Fortunate is the man who recognizes his calling when it first comes to him. Fortunate are we that that man is Quincy Jones.
In his humble-roots-to-starry-heights memoir – he describes breaking into a military armory’s recreation center, outside of Seattle, in 1944, when he was 11. He was hungry and searching for food when he stumbled on a piano.
